Tayler Shelton, MD, provides care with the Springfield Clinic's Family Medicine Department and sees patients at Springfield Clinic Hillsboro West and Springfield Clinic Carlinville.
Dr. Shelton earned her medical degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She completed her family medicine residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.
Dr. Shelton has always been interested in health care. "I always wanted to find a way to help people," she says. "One of the best things about being a doctor is getting to collaborate with a patient to figure out how to best solve their problems."
After shadowing a family practitioner in college, she realized her passion for getting to know patients and caring for them throughout their lives. "That's my goal—to take care of a whole family in different stages of life," she says. "No matter where they are, I want to meet them there." Dr. Shelton also provides obstetric and gynecological care for her patients.
In her free time, Dr. Shelton enjoys spending time with her extended family, swimming, working on home improvement projects and playing board games.
