Elizabeth (Liz) Esker, APRN, CNP, provides care with the Springfield Clinic Orthopedics team and collaborates with Dr. Brett Wolters.

Liz earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from St. John's College of Nursing in Springfield and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria. Liz has provided nursing care in Springfield for nearly a decade prior to joining Springfield Clinic.

Liz was inspired by her family to join them in a career in health care. "I have numerous family members, including my grandmother, who are nurses," she says. "It just felt like the natural route for me."

Originally a medical scribe in college and eventually an ER trauma nurse, Liz gained an interest in orthopedic surgery and specialized in sports medicine while completing her master's degree.

Liz picked sports medicine because of the multiple avenues it provides for her patients. "I'm able to help patients regardless of their age and provide focused care that helps them enjoy their hobbies again."

In her free time, Liz enjoys reading, visiting friends and family and chasing after her children.
